Mary Dyer

Mary Dyer (died 1660) was banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony for her Quaker preaching and was hanged on Boston Common on 1 June 1660 after she returned. The year of her birth is not known with certainty; it is often placed about 1611. She is a witness to the persecution of Friends in New England, not a theologian of the movement.
