Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz — Metaism

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646–1716) developed a metaphysics of monads, a theodicy of the best possible world, and a program of universal characteristic. He is a principal early-modern rationalist alongside Descartes and Spinoza.
