Italian physician and treasure hunter. The years 1797 and 1870 are standard, and the days are not printed here. He was born and died at Bologna. In 1834 he dismantled pyramids at Meroe in search of gold jewelry. He did not excavate them as an archaeological project, and he did not build them. Meroe is present only as the official island row.
