Brahmagupta, on the traditional dates 598–668 CE, writing at Bhillamala, gave rules for arithmetic with zero and negative numbers and for quadratic equations in the Brahmasphutasiddhanta. Colebrooke’s 1817 translation, shared with Bhaskara, is the edition queued.
