A. E. Douglass

A. E. Douglass (5 July 1867 – 20 March 1962) founded dendrochronology and matched tree-ring sequences to construction beams from Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon. The dates are a laboratory match of wood to a ring chronology; he did not excavate the pueblo.
